Rockville is proud to introduce our new RCS series of products. The RCS180-6 is a 180 Watt 6-zone rack mountable digital hybrid amplifier receiver. This amplifier is capable of 70 volt, 100 volt, 8-ohm, and 4-ohm applications. This makes it perfect for use in a Restaurant Bar Café Lounge School Conference room or any other setting where many speakers are needed.
This model offers 180 watts at 70 volt and you can either use the binding posts for single zone applications or use the speaker wire outputs and split the power up to 6 zones. (Do not exceed 100 watts on a single zone). Each zone can have an unlimited amount of speakers wired in parallel. You can also split the 180 watts into 6 zones as you please. For example you can put 25 watts to each of the 6 zones or 50 watts to 2 zones and 12 watts to each of the remaining zones. Simply put, if the total watts are under 180 then you are OK. (Most professionals recommend you not exceed 80% of the amp power. We recommend your speakers watts not to be more than 150 total on the speaker taps.
With 3 mic inputs; each with echo control, you can use this amplifier for announcements, speeches or even Karaoke night! This model also includes a chime button so you can create a chime sound before making announcements.The RCS series features Bluetooth audio streaming so you can play your favorite music or access a playlist right from your phone! This amp also features both USB and SD inputs allowing you to play audio stored on a USB thumb drive or SD Card. There are also 2-line inputs that allow you to plug in another audio device such as an MP3 player, CD player, TV, etc. This is our new and improved version that now has optical input so you can connect this to a digital source like a television or projector.
Individual volume knobs for each of the 6 zones and volume knobs for each of the 3 mic inputs gives you full control over your system.
The built-in clipping limiter function protects your speakers and the amp from overheating. For further protection there is also a cooling system in this amplifier that will keep the components running cool making the amplifier durable and reliable.
This is our new and improved version with euro-block speaker terminals that make it super easy to install the wires even if the receiver is hidden in a corner. The terminals are detachable and once you connect your speaker wire to the terminal it just clicks into the receiver.
Our goal with the RCS series was to make it possible for anyone to install 70 volt systems on their own without spending thousands of dollars on a contractor. This model makes it a breeze to connect many speakers and multiple external sources. We intentionally use common plugs like RCA and ¼ on our model to make this more universal and user friendly. With our unique design you can feel confident in your DIY ability when installing our commercial system!
What is 70 volt ?
70 volt systems are the number one choice for any application where you want to install multiple speakers. With 70 volt there are a lot of advantages over 8-ohm systems. One of the main advantages is the simplicity of the wiring as well as how easy it is to match up speakers with the amplifier. For example, with this180 watt 70 volt amplifier, you can install speakers that total close to 150 watts. It does not matter if it is 10 speakers that are 15 watts each or 25 speakers that are tapped at 5 watts each. You always want your 70 volt amp to have at least 15 or 20% more power than the combined watts your speakers are tapped at. When we say the word tap, what we are referring to are the selectors that many speakers in 70 volt have on them. For example, some speakers might have selectable options of 1.5w, 3w, 5w, 10w. What this does is limit how many watts the built-in transformer on the speaker will allow the speaker to get from the amplifier. What this allows for is full customization of your sound for your space. In a restaurant for example you can tap your dining room speakers at 5 watts, the speakers by the bar area at 10 watts, the ones in the hallway at 3 watts and the speakers in the bathrooms at 1.5 watts. Another great feature with 70 volt is you can mix and match any 70 volt speakers whether they are ceiling speakers, wall mounted speakers, subwoofers, etc.
70 volt systems allow you to run very long lines of speaker wire without signal loss. This makes it ideal when running long speaker leads.
The wiring is simple. You just wire all the positive terminals of the speakers to the positive 70 volt terminals of the amplifier. The negative terminals on the speaker simply get wired to the negative terminals on the amp. You do not have to worry about impedance. The power is constant.

The JBL COL800 is an elegant 32-inch (800 mm) slim column loudspeaker that provides wide horizontal and narrow vertical coverage, with a built-in 10° down-tilt to the aim, providing optimum coverage of most listening areas while allowing the speaker to be installed flat to the wall. The slim, compact design—winner of international design awards for industrial design excellence—complements virtually any architectural décor.
A combination of stylish design and outstanding performance features makes the COL800 ideal for a wide variety of applications, such as conference meeting rooms, lecture halls, retail stores, concourses, transit spaces, fill applications, audio for video, and other applications where slim, compact design and high performance is desired.
Four 5-inch x 2.25-inch racetrack woofers provide maximum radiating area in a column form factor. Dual tweeters are located at top of the array for less obstructed coverage of the listening space, and they are aimed at a 10° down angle, allowing down-tilted coverage aim, even with the cabinet flat to the wall. The shallow cabinet depth of 3.7 inches (93 mm) qualifies for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) projects when installed with the back of the cabinet flush to the wall.
A 60-watt multi-tap transformer allows for use on either 70V or 100V distributed speaker lines, while the speaker is switchable for direct 8-ohm operation with power handling of 150W continuous (600W peak, 2 hrs). The 85 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range delivers clean, clear sound for music or speech.
Versatile installation is accommodated by two included L-brackets, which can be installed on either the top and bottom panels (for horizontal pan aiming) or on the left and right side panels. Both locations allow for close-to-the-wall installation. In addition, a low-profile swivel (pan) tilt wall bracket is also included, for adding up to 10° down-tilt to the cabinet aiming (in addition to the built-in 10° down-tilt aim when the speaker is installed flat to the wall).
The COL800 has an IP54 rating (per IEC60529) for protection against ingress of dust or water. The drivers are water-treated, the grille has a water-backing, and a cover is included to protect the input terminals.
